Abandoned Theme Parks

1. Tell me which amusement park featured in the two articles that you would like to visit and take your camera along and what about that park made you want to go there. Write at least a paragraph.
  -  I would like to go to Chippewa Lake Park, Medina County, Ohio. I would want to go here because in the pictures it showed how the plants and trees were growing around the rides and buildings. I think this would be really cool to photograph. I would also like to photograph here because it looks really old and abandoned and I think this would be really cool to take pictures of. It also looks like a small theme park unlike six flags here and I think it would be cool to show the differences in them and what a small theme park looks like. I would want to show the size of the rides to because in the photographs the Ferris Wheel looked really small compared to the ones in a bigger theme park.
2. Post one photo from that park. You may use the photos from the link, or you can google an entirely new photo. I would prefer to see a photo of the park in disrepair and not a photo of it when it was still operating.



 3. Think of at least FIVE other unusual places you think would be of interest to photographers. List them.
 - Six Flags New Orleans
 -The Rocky Point Amusement Park, Warwick, Rhode Island
 -Lincoln Park, Dartmouth, Massachusetts
 -Nara Dreamland, Nara, Japan
 -Takakanonuma Greenland, Hobara, Japan




4. Use google or another search engine to research ONE of your five places and see if anyone has already started documenting that place. If you find that someone has already started - post at least one photo of their work.

5. Write a paragraph about why you think that it would be fun to document that location. Tell me what interests you about that place and what kind of photos you could expect to take there.
 - I think it would be fun to visit this place because it is really old and rusted. It would be cool to explore the different types of things they have in Japan than here. If I visited this place I would take pictures of the rusted roller coasters and the plants growing over them. I could also take pictures of the shops or food places they had that are run down. I think it would be fun to take pictures of the different roller-coasters and rides too. I want to visit here because it would be different than what I am used to seeing and it looks really old and run down.
6. Tell me what it would take for you to go and take photos at your location. What would you need as far as equipment goes, travel plans, expenses you might encounter and what laws you would have to take into consideration to take photos at your spot.
 - To go and take pictures here I would need a good camera and a stand. I would need to have the right lenses and a camera case with a lense cover. I would also need to take someone with me so that I am not alone. I would need to take a plane because it is far so I would need a plane ticket and money. I would have to plan how many days I will stay also. I would need to have a good paying job to get the money to go.
