Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique
1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you?
- Some challenges that I encountered where trying to find someone doing something academic and getting them into a frame.
2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.
- The thing I thought about the most was trying to keep the subject in focus and the people in the background out of focus. An example would be the picture of the guy in the white shirt in french class he was in focus while the people in the back were out of focus.
3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?
- If I could have done the shoot again I would have made sure the rules were followed right after instead of waiting until I got back to the class and I would have followed the rules better.
4. What things would you do the same?
- I would keep the focus the same if I could do it again.
5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve?
- I think the rule of thirds would be the easiest to follow.
6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture?
- I think the framing rule would be the hardest to follow.
7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is?
- The rule I am still not totally clear on is the lines rule. To figure out what this rule is I could go back to the blog that had what the rules were and I could look up what the rule is also.
